Ciao. My name is Cristina and I'm a licensed local guide. I've been working in the field of tourism for the past 25 years. I started in the late 1990's as a tour director leading groups around Italy and Europe. Travelling to many countries with big and small groups was good training for learning how to make everything run smoothly and enjoyably, how to solve problems and deal with inconveniences and of course, how to avoid the tourist traps.
This is one of the reasons why I decided to became a local guide in 1997. Being born and raised in Genoa I know my town inside out, I grew up hearing stories and anecdotes about the city from my family. As a young student, I followed the redevelopment of the city in 1992 for the Columbus International Expo. I worked as tourist guide during three big events involving Genoa: the G8 Summit in 2001, the Genoa European Capital of Culture in 2004, and the establishment of the Strade Nuove and i Palazzi dei Rolli as Unesco World Heritage Sites in 2006. It would be a pleasure to share this knowledge, my personal memories and background stories with you while transmitting my love for my hometown and passion for my job.
I am aware that most of you haven't been to Genova or the Italian Riviera before and I hope that you will explore this part of Italy through my tours.
